Every time I went looking for something, that I knew had been right there yesterday, I would look upon my office in exhaustion. File cabinets practically bursting at the seams and piles on the desktops growing taller with each passing day. Getting organized was somewhere on the “to-do” list, you know, the one that was “just right here the other day!?!?!” But was always pushed aside for something more important. Beth’s commentary gave me the kick in the rear I needed to just roll up my sleeves and get started. Realizing how foolish I had been, in that putting it off only created a bigger mess and more work!! What a fantastic feeling to sit at a desk with room to write or to go looking for a document to which I can actually find. The best part of all…I never realized that all that searching for misplaced items, you know, that document I set on the top of that pile over there in the corner, actually took time out of my day to find! Here’s a little secret I learned…my file of grocery store receipts weren’t anything I needed to have kept all these years! |
